Adrianne Gonzalez, MSN FNP-C
Adrianne, Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner started in the field of medical aesthetics in 2003. She joined Encore Medspa, the second medspa in northern California, in 2005 and became co-owner in 2007. She built up the practice to make it a successful and well-known medspa in the community. In 2015, she opened a second location in Pleasanton, California. Before working in the aesthetic field, Adrianne worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse for 10 years at Kaiser.
Adrianne became a clinical educator and trainer for Medicis, now Galderma, in 2008 and has been training medical providers in Northern California since then. She has also trained doctors internationally. Adrianne’s passion to deliver natural and beautiful results is evident in her thriving aesthetic practice.
Adrianne loves to teach but is always learning herself and has trained with many experts in the field of aesthetics. Her obsession to create perfect lips motivated her to travel to Norway to train with the top lip injector in the world in 2019. Adrianne is known as the “Lip Queen” of the Bay Area and her patients come from all over the state to see her.
Adrianne is married with two grown children. She enjoys hikes with her dogs and wine tasting in Napa. She loves to travel internationally with her family. Adrianne is also well known in the community for her bible based volunteer work.
Jenny Galindo, RN, BSN
Jenny is a registered nurse with a bachelor of science in nursing. She is currently pursuing her nurse practitioner degree in Women’s Health with Regis College. She is a native Spanish speaker. Jenny has 25 years of experience in nursing and has been working exclusively in the aesthetic field for the past ten years. Jenny was trained at the college of medical aesthetics. She has extensive experience in neuromodulators, dermal filler injections, Sculptra, laser therapy, IPL collagen induction therapy (micro-needling), platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments, and individuated skin care systems.
Jenny is known for providing excellent aesthetic results to her patients in a gentle, minimally invasive, and safe manner. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her family and practicing yoga and meditation.
Carolyn Tiaro, RN
Carolyn began her journey in healthcare as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 2018, swiftly advancing to earn her Registered Nurse credentials in 2021. Her career path took a fascinating turn into holistic healthcare, functional, and regenerative medicine, sparking her curiosity about aesthetics and the science of anti-aging. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to personalized care, Carolyn has honed her skills in helping clients achieve their beauty and wellness goals. Beyond her professional endeavors, Carolyn is a proud parent to a spirited toddler, balancing the joys of motherhood with her career. As a Bay Area native, she’s deeply rooted in the community and is passionate about serving her neighbors with top-notch care. Carolyn’s commitment to a gluten-free and vegan lifestyle reflects her holistic approach to health and wellness. She relishes exploring the diverse culinary landscape, always seeking out the most flavorful and nourishing plant-based dishes.
Yariza Farias, RN, MSN
Yariza Farias is a passionate nurse with a love for aesthetics and patient care. She began her nursing career in 2021 after completing her bachelor’s degree, then went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing. Upon finishing her master’s, Yariza discovered her passion for aesthetic medicine and knew she wanted to pursue a career that combined her nursing skills with making people feel their best. In addition to her work at the med spa, Yariza serves as an ICU nurse in a hospital setting, where she brings her dedication and compassion to patients in critical care. Her favorite treatments are Dysport for its subtle, natural-looking results and microneedling for its transformative skin benefits. When she’s not helping clients achieve their skincare goals, Yariza enjoys paddle boarding with her fiancé, embracing her love for the outdoors and staying active.
Katrina Rivero, RN
Nurse Katrina is a registered nurse who began her nursing career in 2013. She started her nursing journey as an operating room nurse in plastic surgery and simultaneously worked as a Public Health Clinic nurse for Women’s Health and Pediatrics. Two years into working in plastics, she was given the opportunity to train as a nurse injector and loved it! During her high school and college years, she freelanced in hair and make-up for special events, so she knew at a very young age she had a passion for aesthetics. With a keen eye for balance and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, she now combines art, creativity, and science in one! On her days off she loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She loves food, especially sushi and fried chicken sandwiches.
Sarina Curtis, RN, BSN
Nurse Sarina is a part-time aesthetic nurse here at Encore. She has a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She has experience in laser hair removal, IPL, Halo, microneedling, Coolsculpting, lip injections, and other injectables. Sarina loves to help others feel good about themselves, especially to look their best. Sarina has many talents, such as photography, make-up and can speak multiple languages. She has pursued a great deal of volunteer work in nursing and
philanthropy globally, traveling and living in countries such as the Dominican Republic, Philippines, and India. Sarina loves the ocean and enjoys spending time at the beach with her friends.
Ashley Contreras, RN
Ashley is one of Encore’s team of nurses. Her experience of 6 years in nursing primarily in the neonatal intensive care unit gives Ashley that magic touch. Her love and passion for skincare guided her to the aesthetic field. She started her journey by taking an injector course 4 years ago. Ashley’s favorite treatments are Morpheus8 and lip filler. She wants everyone to feel confident and good about themselves.
Ashley is bilingual in Spanish. She grew up all over California and lived in New Mexico and Texas too. Ashley has an adorable black labrador named Lola. She enjoys going to the gym and taking Lola on hikes. Ashley loves to travel, especially to Latin American countries. She loves music and enjoys going to concerts to see her favorite artists.
Ashley Sordello, LE, MA
Ashley initially pursued her passion for skincare as a licensed esthetician before expanding her skill set by obtaining certification as a clinical medical assistant. With a keen appreciation for the synergy between aesthetic and medical treatments, Ashley is dedicated to achieving exceptional results for her clients. She finds immense fulfillment in fostering genuine, empathetic connections with each individual she serves, believing that the one-on-one relationship is the cornerstone of effective care. She takes pride in empowering her clients with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions and achieve their desired outcomes while preserving their natural beauty.
Liane Vieira, LE, PMU
Liane has been a licensed esthetician and permanent makeup artist since 2010, bringing over a decade of expertise in advanced skincare treatments and skin anatomy to Encore Medspa. Her extensive education and experience have equipped her with a deep understanding of the science behind healthy, radiant skin. She holds a variety of certifications that enable her to provide a specialized approach to corrective facials, making her a trusted expert in tailoring treatments to each client’s unique needs. In addition to her role as an esthetician, Liane is also a successful business owner specializing in permanent makeup. Her passion for beauty and skincare is evident in every service she provides, and she is dedicated to helping clients look and feel their best.
Amber Wilson, Patient Care Coordinator
Amber has worked in the medical field for over 15 years. Before Encore she worked for a physical therapy office. Amber came to work for Encore after being one of our patients. She assists our patients with scheduling an appointment, checking in or out, answers our busy phones and emails. She also assists patients with skin care products. She ensures that your experience from start to finish here at Encore is pleasant and seamless. She enjoys interacting with others and helping make their lives a little easier. Amber is a Bay Area native. In her spare time, she loves to watch movies, hike, and spend time with her two sons. She loves music, make-up, and food!
Missy Reesink, Patient Care Coordinator
Missy has worked in the medical aesthetic field for over 20 years. She has worked as a patient care coordinator at Encore for 5 years and previously worked for a plastic surgeon. She assists our patients in many ways, from scheduling their treatments to making them a cup of tea. She is always ready to help out in any way she can. Missy worked as a cosmetologist for 21 years at a salon in San Francisco and still does hair on the side. She was born and raised in San Francisco. Missy enjoys activities that bring out her creativity, like arranging beautiful flower arrangements for our Encore offices. Missy loves to dance, especially 2-step and country line dancing.
Lindsey Covell, Lead Esthetician, MA
Lindsey is proudly Encore’s lead esthetician and skin care specialist. She has worked at Encore for 6 years. Her esthetic career started in 2016 and is a San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology alumni. She specializes in Hydrafacials, peels, and custom facials to cater to all skin needs and concerns. She loves to educate patients on their skin and help them create a successful skin care program. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym, traveling, and
spending time with her family and friends.
Alexa Ortiz, Practice Manager
Alexa is our practice manager and has been with Encore for 8 years. Prior to working at Encore,she worked in the health and fitness field as a regional group exercise manager, personal trainer, and group exercise instructor. With over 25 years of working in management in the public and private sectors, Alexa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Encore Medspa. She loves skincare and trying out new products and treatments that we can offer to our patients. Alexa enjoys hiking, biking, and dancing. She enjoys spending time at the beach with her family and her french bulldog, DJ.
Julia Ankunding, MD, Medical Director of Encore Medspa
Dr Ankunding has been the Medical Director at Encore for 12 years. She and Adrianne Gonzalez met when she was a client. She shared that she was leaving a full time in-patient anesthesia practice and had been exploring work in the field of aesthetics. Hence, a partnership was formed. Dr Ankunding grew up in Contra Costa County. She graduated from UC Davis undergraduate school with a BS in Physiology. She worked in a research lab at UCSD while applying to medical school. She attended medical school at UC Davis and then went on to complete a surgical internship and anesthesia residency. Dr Ankunding has worked in multiple hospitals, outpatient clinics, and plastic surgery offices. She enjoys her advisory role at Encore Medspa and facilitates good faith exams and supervision of Encore’s skilled aesthetic nurses.
